So the little girl took her first plane flight last weekend. The three of us went out to San Diego for Troy's Dad's retirement party and a great time was had by all, though of course everyone was exhausted by the end. The girl did really well on the plane, smiling or sleeping throughout about 90% of our four flight legs and only getting fussy toward the end of our final descent to Indianapolis (she refused to suck on anything to relieve the altitude pressure). In between, we played with Grandpa and Kathy ("Mama Dolly") and her children and grandchildren as well as making Sophia's first trip to the beach (Aunt Angela held her as she dipped her foot in the cold Pacific) and her first swimming excursion (in the community pool).
