August

Howdy.

Well, we haven't posted in a while. But that's no reason to think there's no viewers out there. don't you have us on alerts?

Sophia's had a busy August, what with turning five months old and all. She's now rolling around the floor in an attempt at mobility, though sometimes not in a straight line. I think I remember that from rolling down grassy hills as a kid.

We've been frequenting the farmer's markets, rocking out to some great new music -- she's a fan of the New Pornographers' new disc "Challengers" and I'm trying to turn her on to Frank Black this week -- and just generally playing around and trying to stay cool in the dog days of this superheated summer.

And let's see, what else....

Stylin' in the 'exer-saucer',

playing with Mama;

reclining, mafia don-style.

Partying with Lolo (Grandpa Tansinsin) on his birthday.

Enjoying a visit from Angela,

who witnessed sophie's first bites of something "solid" (rice flakes in milk).

Taking a road trip to Daddy's hometown of Atlanta,
to visit Grandma Douglas and the Wheatleys.

Rolling around town in our summer gear

Taking some much-needed naps

And of course, laughing at feet.

(bonus points if you can guess whose. hint: not a carpenter)

Hot Humid American Summer

Hola amigos y familia,

Greetings from Indianapolis, where your plucky hero Sophia Cameron is enjoying her hot summer* and her fifth month of life. Her mobility is increasing, by which I mean she's rolling over a lot these days. She got a fever this weekend, so we've been taking it easy inside as temperatures hover in the high '90s and the air gets stickier. But from her bear-covered blanket on the basement floor, she whimpers hello to you all.

*ps, who's seen the global warming documentary "An Inconvenient Truth"? Worth moving to the top of your queue.
