April Baths Bring May Cuteness

So, the little girl continues to grow. We havent been to the doc's scale in a few weeks, but she's got to be 12 pounds by now. At least that's how Des feels, having fed her countless pints of milk over the past few weeks (naturally, that's four to five ounces at a time; she's not racing Daddy to the bottom of a Guinness or anything).

May is exciting, since here in Indy it looks like we're getting into the great weather finally. Auntie Angela is coming this week, the first from the Carpenter side of the family to be able to make an in-person visit (the grandparents are following soon on her heels), so we're excited about that. Angela and Troy will be running the mini-marathon (aka half-marathon) downtown on Saturday, with one special little cheerleader. For those of you who can't make it, here are some more delicious photos to tide you over.

Crazy le Weekend

Well, it was a busy weekend around the Carpenter/Tansinsin Indianapolis stronghold. Ter and Heidi and RJ were in from Portland and Nida and Loretta from Sacramento, so there were parties and trips to the Forbidden City chinese buffet and lots of snuggling for little Sophia. Here's some shots of her in action, newly one month old....

Ready to go, in carseat

Hanging with Dad after a bath (her bath, not mine)

Hanging with Lola (Grandma)

Hanging with Aunt Nida

Chilling with cousins Lily and Audrey at Le Peep

...And so tired from all the holding that she had to sleep in Mom and Dad's bed

Plus, here's a bonus shot of cousin RJ in his lovable foam seat!

Next time,

One month already?

Well, four weeks I guess. But here are some more pics for those of you still paying attention. Sophie is growing, though still small (about ten pounds). Even cuter each day!

Hope you enjoy!

Spring Girl

So where did all that Spring weather go? With snow in the air and 30 degree temperatures, Sophia has not been able to go outside as much as she wants to, to explore the beauty of the so-called Indiana Spring. Of course, for Mom and Dad, the adventures keep on coming, regardless of weather. The girl is showing us something new every day. Most of her time is spent eating and sleeping of course (wouldn't we all love a few days like that), but she's also found the energy for:

Sophia's Second Week

Papa Troy is going back to work today (Tuesday), but the three of us have had a blast getting to know each other at home for the past week-plus. The girl is teaching us new ways (and times) of sleeping and humbling lessons about what sorts of housework and hobbies are just not really that important sometimes. Here's a couple more shots from the past few days for your viewing pleasure:

Someday, girl, you'll need a pair of your own ;)

Showing off her (perfect) hands.

Just so you know whose she is.

And here's the best part about being a new parent, which is the snuggling...
