Sophie's West Coast Adventure

So the little girl took her first plane flight last weekend. The three of us went out to San Diego for Troy's Dad's retirement party and a great time was had by all, though of course everyone was exhausted by the end. The girl did really well on the plane, smiling or sleeping throughout about 90% of our four flight legs and only getting fussy toward the end of our final descent to Indianapolis (she refused to suck on anything to relieve the altitude pressure). In between, we played with Grandpa and Kathy ("Mama Dolly") and her children and grandchildren as well as making Sophia's first trip to the beach (Aunt Angela held her as she dipped her foot in the cold Pacific) and her first swimming excursion (in the community pool). Anyway, here's some pics:

Playing with Tita Nida the night before we left

And enjoying her new favorite position: sitting up

Meeting four new friends
Partying two straight days

And after returning home, little sleeping (disheveled; jet-lagged) beauty

Ides Of June

Hola, friends and countrymen. Here at long last another installment of Sophia Cameron Carpenter photos. I know it's getting further between blog updates but hey, the girl is a full time job now and just getting bigger and more concerned with how best her daddy and mommy should use their time. As I type, she is sitting behind me in a little chair "talking" in murmurs and coos, which I can only interpret as "kind sir, i'm a baby over here, please pay attention to me". My response of course is that her adoring public needs to get a taste once in a while. So here goes:

Looking smooth in her Jimi Hendrix t-shirt (thanks Rubes)

Eating with Grandma, who paid a week-long visit.
